Random matrix

A site specific installation at an old scientific station. Biologists had spent many hours mapping out the bay using grids, counting the number of various specimens, within a frame of the matrix. Thus Random matrix mimics the mapping of the scientists but is random, like the natural movement of the animals the scientists are trying to count, it's not methodical. The beauty for the artist is the intricate play of reflections, ripples and shadows that the matrix creates. The matrix is made out of reeds joined together by tentacles from climbing foliage. This is the first in a series of framing the environment (see streams of reflection)
